Have you ever considered giving your clients board games as a closing gift?
Sounds a little crazy in this day of digital everything, but as it turns out, it’s not crazy at all.
According to a segment on NBC news, in 2014 sales of board games increased 10 percent – up to 1 1/2 Billion dollars. Sales of the childhood favorite Operation are up a whopping 40 percent!
It seems that people once again want to connect with each other, and families are looking at board games as a way to keep their kids off the electronics and interacting with them.
But it’s not just families with children who are playing. Board game cafes and coffee shops are springing up across the country. Here, players can pay a small cover charge, such as $5, to come in and play with friends. It might turn out to be a new place for fun-loving singles to meet, as well.
So think about it. The most popular games are still some of the old favorites, like Monopoly, The Game of Life, Sorry, and of course – Operation. The next time you close on a home for a couple, a young family, or even seniors, board games might be the perfect choice.
