Maybe you’ve never even heard of it. It stands for First World Problems.
One of my clients has been going through some serious emotional strain, so she started going to a counselor to get her head back into joy and happiness. The counselor told her about FWP and told her that considering it would help her put things into perspective.
When she wrote and asked me to watch the video clip, I didn’t really want to do so. I wasn’t sure I wanted to see a video about how everyone else has it so bad so I should feel grateful.
I already feel grateful. In fact, I take time every day to think about the things I’m thankful for. I also know that if I were suffering it wouldn’t ease anyone else’s pain. I can’t make someone else well by getting sick myself or make them rich by become destitute.
But… she said please, so I clicked. I’m glad I did, so I invite you to click here too.
Here’s a hint: It’s not what you’re probably thinking, and when it gets to the ending, you just might laugh out loud.
