AI is all the rage lately. It’s so easy, it’s so fast, and it’s so cheap!
Right now, some real estate agents are feeling the pinch. There are 25-30% fewer homes being sold than there were just a few years ago – but there are only about 5 or 6% fewer agents competing for those clients.
That makes your bio even more important than it was before.
And it’s also why some service providers are thinking: “I don’t write well, and I don’t want to spend the money to hire a writer, so can’t AI just write my bio? Then it won’t cost me anything and it will be it ready to go within minutes.”
Of course. AI can write anything you ask of it. And probably for free. But…
If you let AI write you bio, it will probably be worth exactly what you paid for it.
As much as AI appears to have human thinking and reasoning capabilities, it simply cannot replicate original thought. (At least not yet.)
It doesn’t have the ability to comprehend the significance of bits of information about you, your attitudes, your personality, your ambition, your enthusiasm, and experience. And it doesn’t have the emotional understanding to turn all that into a story that reveals the real you.
In fact, all AI can do is copy, combine, and re-word the things you and others have written about you. It can also take some of your information and combine it with similar information about other agents to come up with a picture of you that may or may not be accurate.
What will be missing from your AI written bio is the emotional reaction that brings you to life in the minds of your readers.
AI is learning to recognize emotions from word choices, facial expressions, etc. However the complexity of human emotions lies not just in observable behavior but in subjective experiences linked to consciousness. “For AI to understand emotions, it would need to possess a form of awareness or internal state comparable to what humans feel.” (sciencenewstoday.org)
AI does not understand emotions, so it cannot judge what statements might trigger a positive emotional reaction in those who read your bio.
So yes, AI can write your bio. But if you want a bio that motivates prospects to choose you over your competition, you’ll probably be disappointed.
The same is true for other advertising. Any time you need to trigger an emotion to cause a prospect to buy, AI is not your best choice. Think about that.
And then, when you need a bio, a persuasive web page, a community page, or a property description, get in touch. I love to provide the words that make real estate agents successful.
