Try this…
Of course if you want your clients and colleagues to recommend you, you need to ask for testimonials. Even people who love your work will forget that their comments are valuable to you.
But here’s another way to get more recommendations:
Make the first move – recommend them first.
If you’ve done business with someone whose work pleased you, take the time to write a testimonial for them.
Send it to them with your permission to use it in their marketing materials.
Then, go one step further and find them on LinkedIn, Active Rain, or any other site that allows you to comment. Then write a good, specific recommendation.
You know what will happen? They’ll get an email letting them know – and suggesting that they return the favor.
Would YOU fail to write something nice about someone who recommended you first?
