What did you do today to build your real estate business?

April 24, 2014 by Marte Cliff

What did you do today to build your business?
The thing about building a real estate career is that the need to market your services never ends.
You need to keep doing something every day to meet a new prospect, to nurture a current prospect, to connect with a past client, or to put your name in front of searchers.
At the same time, some days seem so busy that you wonder how you’ll even do what you MUST do to keep track of current transactions.
5-Minute Tasks to the rescue…
Even in a busy day there are always little gaps, so take a few minutes to create a list of 5-minute tasks. Then, instead of sitting there thinking “I could be doing something” when those gaps occur – look at your list and pick a task.
  • Can you write a short “Hi, how are you?” email in 5 minutes? How about penning a thank you note to someone?
  • Can you download that last batch of photos?
  • Can you write a helpful comment on someone’s blog? Or maybe make some notes to yourself about your next blog post?
If you’ve got 10 or 15 minutes instead, how about making a phone call to someone in your sphere of influence?
If you make a list of small tasks and keep it handy, you’ll never have to waste those minutes spent waiting for a call-back or killing time between back-to-back appointments.
Think about this:

If you make good use of a spare 5 minutes just a dozen times a week, you’ll have added a full hour’s worth of productivity to your work week.
